Creativity creates value.

Investment in artists and arts organizations strengthens more than the creative sector. It helps shape the places people want to live, work, visit, and build a future.

The ACGG measures that value through the reach of our investments and the arts’ broader economic and community impact across Greater Greensboro.

New Creative Investment

New Creative Investment outlined what sustained support could make possible. Backed by more than $3 million in funding from Guilford County and the North Carolina Arts Council through American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding, this initiative strengthened arts organizations, expanded professional development for artists, brought arts learning into classrooms, and helped more people discover local arts.

ARPA funding concludes in December 2026. Its success, however, provides a foundation for the next chapter of creative investment in Guilford County.

The Ripple Effect

One investment can travel a long way.

An investment in an artist can become a performance, an exhibition, or a classroom experience. It can bring people together, support nearby businesses, and introduce someone to a new possibility.

The value continues through local spending, shared experiences, and a stronger sense of belonging.

The Creative Economy

The arts are economic infrastructure.

Artists are workers. Arts organizations are employers. Audiences support local businesses. Together, they help make Greater Greensboro a place where people want to live, work, and visit.
