Organizational Loan Funds

Dance Project

Flexible capital for stronger arts organizations.

Not every important investment fits within a traditional grant. Sometimes an organization needs access to capital at the right moment, whether to manage an unexpected need, pursue a promising opportunity, launch a new revenue strategy, or make a significant organizational change.

The ACGG offers two loan programs designed to provide nonprofit arts organizations with access to flexible capital while supporting sound financial planning and long-term sustainability.

Arts Stabilization & Enhancement Fund Strategic Loans

The Arts Stabilization & Enhancement Fund (ASEF) provides short-term strategic loans to eligible Greensboro nonprofit arts organizations. Created by The ACGG in partnership with the Tanger Center for the Performing Arts/Oak View Group and the City of Greensboro, ASEF is designed to strengthen Greensboro’s nonprofit arts ecosystem by providing organizations with greater flexibility to respond to opportunities and unexpected needs.

Best suited for: Short-term organizational needs or strategic opportunities where access to timely capital can help an organization maintain momentum, address an unexpected challenge, or strengthen its operations.

Geography: Greensboro

Sustainable Business Initiative Fund

The Sustainable Business Initiative (SBI) Fund provides capital for significant strategic investments that can strengthen an organization over the long term. The fund was created to support organizational sustainability and development by helping seed big ideas and address significant infrastructure or organizational needs.

Potential uses include change capital for strategic realignment and seed funding for new ventures supported by external viability assessments.

Best suited for: Larger, longer-term strategic opportunities such as developing new revenue streams, organizational realignment, significant collaborations, or other investments intended to materially strengthen an organization’s sustainability.

Eligibility: Eligible organizations are performing arts organizations with budgets greater than $250,000, at least three years of producing history, an active board, and a demonstrated commitment to excellence.

Process: SBI begins with a conversation with The ACGG and a Letter of Intent. Organizations invited to proceed complete an application, followed by review by The ACGG and the SBI Oversight Committee. Loan terms are determined based on the request and the organization’s financial position.
